I don’t have anything to add that hasn’t already been said about Dropbox, but I have to say that it is great, and that I recommend it to everybody. Dropbox is the easiest way I’ve found to share files between my home computers (Mac and Linux) and my work PC (Windows XP).

Dropbox gives you a folder that it keeps in sync between all your computers and their web site. All your data is stored and transfered encrypted, so its reasonably secure (just keep your password safe!). Check out Lifehacker for an overview of the service, and tips and tricks on how to use it for more than just file syncing. The best tip I use is to use symbolic links to sync folders outside your Dropbox.

Dropbox is crucial to my workflow these days, when I often have two or more computers running at my desk at once. A 2 GB account is free, and I highly recommend taking advantage of it.
